Workshop on Game-Building

From September 12th-16th, the partners in the DIGIBLEND project met in Stralsund for our game-building workshop. Our host, the Jugendkunst e.V. has a lot of experience in creating games and was the ideal choice for us.

We started our workshop within the playing card factory, which is a youth project itself. All participants of our workshop were impressed by the old printing machines that are used to print playing cards and other stuff.

After some theoretical input about game types and game mechanics, we went to work. Based on skills we selected earlier from the EU DigiComp framework, we developed three game concepts we will use in the assessment phase of our project.

In three small groups, our creative minds could shine. Many ideas were brought up, discussed and put into the game design or discarded.

After this workshop, we will improve the game designs and produce a playable draft. During our next transnational project meeting in October in Giulianova/Italy, we will then play the games and prepare for the testing phase.
